Golf Retail Statistics by Suzie Reis of Golf Datatech

A new monthly feature in AGM eTailer is market share and average selling prices of selected hardgoods merchandise classifications. This information is contributed by new AGM Affiliate member, Golf Datatech, golf's leading provider of retail market research reports that track market share, price points, inventory and distribution. Although the current number of golf shops in the network provide a statistically accurate base for its retail sales reports, Golf Datatech continues to add shops strategically to each region of the country. Golf shops wishing to participate must have a point of sale inventory control software program that is compatible with Golf Datatech. Through these point of sale systems it takes about a minute each month to participate. Each shop is paid $100 when they join the network and $10 each month they send in their data. The following research comes from the on-course channel of distribution for the month of September 2002 and represents the U.S. market.
