Selling Golfers the Hope of the Sweeter Swing

Tom Stine, a co-founder of Golf Datatech, a market research firm in Kissimmee, FL, says serious golfers, those who play more than 16 rounds a year, are customizing. Last year, he said, 63 percent of serious golfers said they planned to buy custom clubs for their next set of irons. Forty-one percent had already had a custom fitting.
