Soggy spring results in sluggish business, play at golf courses According to Tom Stine, cofounder of Golf Datatech, the Florida-based research company, those numbers in New England have fallen 27.3 percent year-to-date through April compared with the same period in 2002. Likewise, in North Carolina, rounds have sunk 22 percent. “Those kind of numbers are big enough to attribute to the weather,” Stine says. “There is no other way to justify drops like them.”
