May Equipment Sales

Woods and wedges performed strongly at retail in May, posting strong increases in units and dollar sales compared with May 2002. And putters continued to command top dollar even as unit sales contracted slightly. But weakness persisted in sales of other golf equipment, according to data provided by Kissimmee, Fla.-based tracking company Golf Datatech.
