Sales of woods, irons, wedges and shoes rose in July, according to Golf Datatech. Woods recorded a 12.8 percent increase in dollar sales and an 8.8 percent gain in unit sales compared with July 2002. The decline in rounds played, however, continued to have an adverse effect on ball sales, which fell 7.9 percent (in dollars) compared with the same month a year ago.
