June Equipment Sales

8/5/2004

Equipment sales rose across several product categories in June, paced by mid-single-digit gains in irons and woods, according to Golf Datatech LLC, a Kissimmee, Fla.-based industry research firm. Unit sales of irons and woods rose 7.1 percent and 5.1 percent, respectively, compared with June 2003. Dollar sales also rose, but not as much, indicating a decline in average selling prices. Ball sales, which are closely tied to participation, rose slightly. For the second consecutive month, putters sales declined, falling 5.6 percent in units and 9.2 percent in dollars.
